1.5 million incentive for social security workers in debt collection – Jornal Económico

The government has determined that the debt collection fund will receive 10% of the 2018 court fee. In total there are 1.5 million which aim to encourage coercive debt collection as is the case for the workers of the Tax and Customs Authority. , according to the "Público" this Tuesday, August 13.

When debt collection incentives were implemented in April, the state reported that the Social Security Financial Management Institute (IGFSS) over the past three years has raised an average of “€ 630 million”.

The Government's main objective is to increase the efficiency of debt collection and has even created for this purpose the Social Security Executive Collection Fund (FCE), an autonomous fund that has no legal personality, managed and administered by IGFSS.

The Executive states that it intends with this incentive "to promote debt collection and enhance the fight against fraud and contributory evasion".
