«Qualifying» has 19 Portuguese athletes. Tournament promoted to the category of $ 25,000 in prize money
The historic Faro Open, the international tournament in activity for the longest time in Portugal, returns to the Faro Tennis and Padel Center (CTPF), in Gambelas, starting today, Sunday, 28th, for its 30th edition.
This is the second in a series of three consecutive events planned for the Algarve region, promoted to the category of $ 25,000 in monetary prizes.
All the rules of the Directorate-General for Health will be followed, under the organization of the CTPF, with support from the Portuguese Tennis Federation.
The first three days are for qualifying, with the presence of 19 Portuguese players: Francisco Cabral and Gonçalo Falcão are among the top seed (10th and 16th, respectively); Tiago Torres, Francisco Faria, João António, Tomás Almeida, Tiago Rodrigo Fernandes, Illia Stoliar, Pedro Libório, Afonso Portugal, Eduardo Morais and José Ricardo Nunes had direct entry; and João Ferreira, Vasco Leote Prata, André Stewart, Martim Simões, Tiago Boschmans, Heber Adonis and João Maria Soares were “awarded” with wild cards (invitations), as was the French François Musiletti.
