Lar da Criança felt "the responsibility and the call to help the victims of the cyclone Idai disaster in the Beira region of Mozambique". The Portimão institution launched a campaign, which ran from April 1 to 15, called "Todos Por Moçambique".
The campaign emerged from the will of the management, the employees and the families of the children to help the victims of the inclement weather. The result was about five tons of goods and products, mostly for children, including children and adult clothing and shoes, maternity clothes, personal care products, household cleaning and school supplies.
The products collected were collected at Portimão's Lar da Criança on April 29, following a container by sea to the Port of Beira. The products will be shipped in a container bound for Mozambique at the beginning of May.
In Mozambique, the association "Christian Council of Mozambique" – Sofala delegation will be responsible for the collection and distribution of products and goods to the population of Beira.
The Lar da Criança de Portimão thanks "the collaboration of the collaborators, the families of the institution, the local Associations, namely Caritas and DUAL and also the great involvement of the Portimonian Civil Society".
