The University of Évora (UÉ) is organizing today, Tuesday, 5, from 10:30 am, the event «A day to think about the future of the University of Évora», which will be attended by the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Manuel Heitor.
This is a new initiative launched in close collaboration with the government official, which foresees, in the course of 2021, to travel to several national scientific and higher education institutions to accompany the ongoing academic, scientific and innovation activities, in order to “stimulate the capacity of institutions to attract public and private financing, including community financing”, namely at the level of decentralized management funds, but also from the European Commission's Horizon program.
Today, Tuesday, at the University of Évora, several ongoing projects and future ideas will be presented and discussed for the development of actions in regional, national and European collaboration in the areas of art and culture, technology and science, innovation and development, combining activities teaching, research and innovation.
The actions will be inserted in the areas of: 1) new materials and energy; 2) aeronautical sector; 3) sustainability of the territory and biodiversity; and 4) population health and well-being.
«A day to think about the future of the University of Évora» also includes a reflection session on the evolution of the educational offer of the University of Évora, to be carried out under the «Skills 4 post-COVID» program and Portugal's participation in the comparative study «Labor Market Relevance and Outcomes – LMRO», developed jointly by the OECD and the European Commission's Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture, in which Portugal will collaborate with a group of teams from three other European countries (Austria, Slovenia and Hungary).
