The senior male team of the Basketball Section of the Academic Association of Coimbra (SB / AAC) returned yesterday to use pavilion 1 of the Coimbra University Stadium (EUC), available again after the academic exams.
João Frazão, president of SB / AAC thanked “the vice-rector and director of the EUC, António José Figueiredo, for making the pavilion available”. The director recalls that the usual "home" of the Academic is the Multisport Pavilion, which "is the only pavilion in Coimbra at the moment with the capacity to host League games". “It is exceptional, even at the national level and we now know that new tables, new scores, etc. have already been acquired, which will be an asset for Coimbra and for Académica na Liga”. However, and although it is “important to train where you play,” there are limitations.
“Today they could see members of the board, physiotherapists, team director, technical team and all the players together in one space. Things that, unfortunately, contrary to what is foreseen in the regulation of the sports recovery of the Portuguese Basketball Federation, which according to the Government and DGS were responsible for regulating the return to sports practice, do not happen in Multidesportos, because there is a contingency plan of the autarchy that does not foresee the presence of elements other than athletes, coaches and a physiotherapist ”, explains the leader.
