AHP launches course of Management of Hostels, Guesthouses and Lodging Establishments in Lagos - Jornal diariOnline Região Sul

AHP – Hospitality Association of Portugal launches the Intensive Course of Management of Hostels, Guesthouses & Lodging Establishments. This edition will take place in three Portuguese cities: Lisbon, Lagos and Porto.

The new AHP Training Academy course will be held on May 29 and 30 in Lagos, the city that hosts this first edition. Developed and designed by AHP, this course is based on an evaluation of the real needs of this accommodation offer. For the Hospitality Association of Portugal, not all Local Accommodation (AL) is the same, and it is necessary to distinguish collective accommodation establishments from other realities, punctual and isolated.

Cristina Siza Vieira, AHP, comments that "hostels, guesthouses and lodging establishments are totally different business realities from those who explore a house or an apartment in AL". «We are talking about accommodation modalities with specific needs, in many points similar to the hotel industry; so we have set up a training that meets these modalities, giving entrepreneurs, investors and professionals a broad knowledge of this business, both for those who already operate there and for those who plan to develop their economic activity, "he said.

The course, open to associates and non-associates of AHP, lasts 1 and a half days, in a total of 12 hours of training, distributed by 6 training modules, from the Legal Framework and Tax Obligations to Revenue Management, through Management , Marketing and Service. Among the trainers are John Spain, Partner of Spain and Associates, SL, responsible for the Office of Fiscal Support of AHP; Bernardo D'Eça Leal, Managing Partner of The Independent Group Collective and Marta Sotto-Mayor, Global Director Marketing and Sales of the same group; Octávia Sá, administrator of Guesthouse Casa Belmonte; Henrique Henriques, a specialist in Revenue Management, and Cristina Siza Vieira, CEO of AHP.

The number of places per place is limited and the enrollment includes, in addition to the training modules, teaching materials and issuance of certificates with the seal of the Hotelaria de Portugal. The training is aimed at Entrepreneurs, Investors and Professionals who operate in this area or who wish to develop their activity there.
