Three titles from the Honor Division of the Football Association of Coimbra (AFC), a winner trophy from the 1st AFC Division and experience in the former 3rd National Division. The three titles are part of the curriculum of Ala-Arriba, Mira's formation that on October 3rd celebrates 57 years of existence, and that this season, after 14 seasons of absence, is back to senior district football in the district of Coimbra .
“2006/2007 was the last season that we had a senior team. I was president between 2002 and 2007 and left with the club in the Honor Division, but, at the time after that, football ended at Ala-Arriba ”, confided the current president of the club, João Roça.
The return of the senior team has been outlined since 2017 and is based on the training levels. “We are prepared for the new season. We started creating several foundations for seniors and started with the youth team of the club ”, he assumed.
In the space of three years, the number of athletes has tripled and the blue and white ensemble, which has an anchor in the symbol, had young people as a basis for sustained growth. “We had 50 athletes in the Benjamin and children's classes, today we have about 150 athletes from the kids to the juniors. We will have seniors and, also, we have a team of veterans ”, stressed João Roça.
On his return to the 1st Division, the “historic” Ala-Arriba wants to “have a good time, on the return of a historic football club from Coimbra”, guaranteed the leader.
