Filipe Albuquerque is preparing to start the 2021 season of the North American Endurance Championship this weekend, with the emblematic 24h of Daytona. After two victories in the great American marathon, in 2013 and 2018, the driver from Coimbra aspires to return to the highest place on the podium, this time behind the wheel of the Accura ARX-05 of Wayne Taylor Racing.
Filipe will share over the weekend driving his new machine with Ricky Taylor, Alexander Rossi and Helio Castroneves. The 5th place on the starting grid is already secured, but until tomorrow, there will be track time to continue working on the evolution of Accura and make it more competitive: “We know that we were not the fastest team in the qualifying race but we also know that we are learning the car and evolving it. Until the start of the race we have time to make improvements. We also know that in a 24h race the fastest ones don't always win, but those who can be more consistent and who can avoid problems. In addition, the reliability of the machine is also very important. Many factors to take into account and that in the end make all the difference ”, he started by explaining.
