The young Algarve cyclist Emanuel Duarte was honored yesterday, Sunday, winner of the Tour of Portugal of the Future, confirming the superiority that made him wear the "yellow jersey" since the first stage.
Miguel Salgueiro (Sicasal / Constantinos) was the hero of the day, winning the last stage of 122.8 kilometers, departing and arriving at Portalegre, integrating an escape and being the only tough.
The fight for the 'yellow jersey' of the race for Portuguese under-23 runners was marked by the superiority of Emanuel Duarte.
The Portimão runner, who wore the command symbol on the first day, controlled the opponents and gained everyone time, standing out on the climbs of São Mamede and Cabeço de Mouro and finishing 3rd in the tirade.
In the overall standings, Emanuel Duarte finished at the top of the standings. This was followed by Pedro Miguel Lopes (UD Oliveirense / InOutBuild) at 1.10 minutes and Tiago Leal (Miranda-Mortágua) at 2.00 minutes.
The Portimonense cyclist had already stood out in August in the Tour de Portugal, where he secured the "white jersey", the best symbol in the Youth classification.
Emanuel Duarte will participate next week in the national team stage, aiming for a possible call for the World Championship, which will take place within two weeks in the United Kingdom.
