Algarve Design Meeting starts today in Faro - Jornal diariOnline Região Sul


The 9th edition of the Algarve Design Meeting (ADM) will kick off Tuesday, 21, in Faro, boosting the link between designers, companies, academia, industry and society over the next five days.

Conferences, exhibitions, workshops, pop up shops, alumni talks, cinema, performances, montas and videomapping are part of the program of the initiative, whose base is installed in the Brewery Factory, in the historical area of ​​the Algarve capital. The complete program can be consulted here.

It is an event organized by the University of Algarve, in partnership with the Faro City Council and the National Association of Designers.

"The city of Faro becomes the international capital of design, where institutions, companies, teachers, researchers, professionals and the general public can (through the various activities carried out in the Fábrica da Cerveja building) have contact with the various projects and talents in this sector of the creative industries, fostering knowledge among the different collectives of our society, "says the organization.

The Algarve Design Meeting will end again with the Videomapping Festival, on the façade of the Church of the Cathedral, on Saturday 25th, at 10:00 p.m., with the projection of experimental works by students from several national and international universities: University of Algarve, University of Tomas Bata (Czech Republic), Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto, ESAD – School of Arts and Design – Matosinhos and Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon.

The And'19 Design Awards will continue, distinguishing the best professional projects in the area of ​​communication, interior design and product design.

During the last few years, ADM has gained international renown, having already performed more than 80 exhibitions, 40 workshops and eight conferences (with the participation of more than 130 national and international speakers), 50 pop-up stores, five videomapping festivals and four outdoor movie sessions, among several thousands of visitors during the event.
