The Algarve Football Association (AFA) delivered on Tuesday, 21, about 174 kilograms of non-perishable food to the Food Bank Against Hunger (BACFAlg), as a result of the recently organized asset-raising campaign.
In a statement, the institution stressed that the initiative "continues a policy of social responsibility that aims to make AFA increasingly more solidary and inclusive".
“We thank Banco Alimentar for the trust placed and the support of all who, in a selfless way, made this contribution possible that we are proud of and that motivates us for future initiatives”, said Carlos Figueira, director of AFA with the responsibility for Social Responsibility.
For Nuno Alves, president of BACFAlg, “solidarity is part of a sense of belonging that we must never lose”.
“Feeling that, in need, the community is there and can help is very important for everyone. It gives us security and fills our hearts ”, he concluded.
The Algarve Football Association thanked the entire community that contributed to the cause, including sports agents and partners, as well as Rádio Fóia for the partnership in publicizing the initiative.
