Algarve Football Association interrupts events until the end of January

The Algarve Football Association (AFA) decided, “after careful reflection” following the announcement of the general confinement of the country, to interrupt the football and futsal sporting events it organizes until the end of January.

“As a result of the decisions and guidelines that resulted from the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers, which focused on taking measures to stop the current pandemic that is plaguing our country, the direction of the Algarve Football Association, after careful consideration, decided to proceed with the interruption of the sporting events that it organizes, an interruption that will be in effect between 00:00 hours on January 15 and 23:59 hours on January 30, 2021 ”, explains the AFA, in a statement.

The association guarantees that it will continue to “strive for the fulfillment of the desire” of the affiliated clubs, that is, “the possibility of exercising sports and the respective competitions, always in compliance with the regulatory and legislative rules that aim to protect public health”.

“We believe and urge everyone again to comply with all the rules of prevention, so that in the next governmental evaluation we may already have the possibility to carry out the activity that we all love”, emphasizes the AFA, wishing the recovery of all those who suffer with the pandemic and asking for “the utmost rigor and responsibility to all, so that they do not facilitate compliance with all preventive rules”.
