The National Maritime Authority will promote the opening of Portuguese lighthouses, including three spaces in the Algarve, with free visits scheduled for today, Thursday, 18, as part of the celebrations of the International Day of Monuments and Sites.
The headlights can thus be visited free of charge between 14:00 and 17:00 hours.
This celebration aims to sensitize the public to the diversity and vulnerability of the heritage, as well as to the effort involved in its protection and conservation.
The following headlights will be open to visitors:
Continent – Montedor, Leça, Aveiro, Cabo Mondego, Penedo da Saudade, Cabo Carvoeiro, Berlenga, Cabo Espichel, Sines, Cabo Sardão, Cabo de São Vicente, Santa Maria, Vila Real de Santo António;
Azores: Ferraria, Arnel, Cintrão, Gonçalo Velho, Contendas, Ponta da Barca, Ponta da Ilha, Albarnaz, Lajes Flores, Ponta do Topo;
Madeira: Ponta do Pargo and São Jorge.
