The Algarve poet Pedro Jubilot received the «Calceteiros de Letras» award, given by Ginásio Clube de Faro for his action and dedication in spreading the word and poetry.
The award was presented last 15th, at the end of the 4th edition of the Spoken Word Festival – Calceteiros de Letras, promoted by the farense association.
The Ginásio Clube de Faro instituted the award with the aim of recognizing and rewarding a personality or institution for its role in the world of poetry and the spoken word.
Pedro Jubilot from a young age who dedicates part of his life to artistic creation. He edited fanzines, webzines, flyers. He wrote and published short stories. He edited and wrote books. He was a collaborator of newspapers in the area of culture, promoted cultural and artistic associations, participated in various literary meetings and created iconic cultural events, such as the meetings between musicians and poets «Poemus», merging music and poetry, which took hundreds of people at Casa Álvaro de Campos, in Tavira.
He was creator, inventor and builder of CanalSonora, an independent, non-profit publishing company focused on artistic dissemination, which has been developing an intense and tireless work in the dissemination of writers, photographers and other artists.
The «Calceteiros de Letras» award created by the farense artist João Franck, was presented by Graça Lobo, from the Algarve Culture Regional Direction, at the end of the Spoken Word Festival.
