Algarve skater Diogo Marreiros was the best Portuguese on the first day of the road races of the European Speed Skating Championship, which is being held in Pamplona, Spain.

In male seniors, in the 10,000-meter race, Diogo Marreiros (Roller Lagos) was ranked 5th, while Miguel Bravo (Roller Lagos) was 19th and David Pedro (GD Lagoa) 20th, while Duarte Souza was 14th. .º in the 100 meters sprint race.
In the category of female seniors, two Algarvians competed in the 10,000-meter race. Andreia Canha and Carolina Ferreira, both from GD Lagoa, were ranked 6th and 19th, respectively.
