The young Algerian footballer Gonçalo Ramos, from Benfica, was one of the men selected for the national men's U-19 national team, which starts Sunday's 14th European Champions League in Armenia.
The 18-year-old from Olhão, who plays in the mid-offensive and advanced positions, is one of the main promises of the "incarnates", with 18 international caps for the young teams.
Gonçalo Ramos, son of Ramos, a former Farense footballer, began his career at Olhanense, moving to Benfica in 2013. Last season, he scored 18 goals for the juniors' team.
The Portuguese team is part of group A, facing Italy (today, 18:00 Portuguese time), Spain (17 th, 15:45) and Armenia (20 th, 18:00).
"We want to get through the first phase and that is what we are focused on. I believe we will have a say in our group," said national team manager Filipe Ramos.
