In the final climb to the Serra do Larouco, in Montalegre, after 156.2 kilometers, and with a 1st category mountain count to coincide with the stage, the victory of the stage belonged to Luís Gomes (Rádio Popular / Boavista), integrated on the main escape of the day.
David Livramento (Sporting / Tavira) once again proved to be the most combative runner in the race, integrating an escape for the third day in a row and winning a driving goal.
In the attack on the goal, among the group of favorites, Joni Brandão launched a decisive attack in the last kilometers and had only half response from João Rodrigues, just the difference of 11 seconds between the two in the goal to take the lead of the Volta.
Former leader Gustavo Veloso accused the pain of yesterday's crash, while Vicente de Mateos (Aviludo / Louletano) also had a bad day and was unable to respond to his rival's attack.

Tomorrow, the 8th stage departs from Viana do Castelo to reach the top of Santa Quiteria, Felgueiras, after having exceeded 156.6 kilometers. The goal is also a 3rd category mountain count (1600 meters at 8.9 percent).
