In a statement, Altice Portugal says that the new RIS will present "a more resilient infrastructure with internal capabilities," ensuring more effective monitoring, enabling better control and a better analysis of traffic.
The company explains that RIS 2020 integrates three major areas in the provision of network and communication services to entities of the Ministry of Health (MS), namely a private and exclusive network of corporate connectivity, where the minimum bandwidth will be substantially improved for all entities of the Ministry, and especially for functional units in primary health care.
With respect to information security and cyber security, the company ensures that the new network will bring relevant improvements in the ability to support and assist users and greater transparency in governance management.
On the other hand, Wi-Fi internet access coverage for all users visiting the NHS and MS entities will be ensured by the new network.
Finally, Altice will provide a customized range of fixed and mobile voice communications services for both primary care entities and hospital entities.
RIS is a key component of the health information ecosystem, ensuring the connectivity of the various National Health Service (NHS) institutions and operating continuously 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
