Amateur strike in Amadora-Sintra maintains 100% adhesion, according to the union - News

"We will appeal to the presidents of the chambers of Sintra and Amadora, because the Government can help solve the problem. This population is already heavily punished because there are more than 100,000 users without a family doctor, "SIM Secretary General Roque da Cunha told Lusa, adding that membership of the strike is total.

According to the union, the five-day standstill will affect 300 surgeries and dozens of tests that require the intervention of anesthesiologists, namely 15 ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography), which associate X-rays and endoscopy and allow the evaluation of bile ducts, pancreatic canals and gallbladder, 18 exams in the area of gastroenterology, such as colonoscopies, six exams for children and four other exams in the area of psychiatry.

The anesthesiologist doctors at the Hospital Fernando Fonseca (Amadora-Sintra) started a five-day strike at 08:00 Monday to demand the hiring of more specialists and clinical safety conditions.

Summoned by the SIM and the Union of Doctors of the Southern Zone, the strike, which ends at 8:00 pm on Friday, aims to claim that the emergency team has four specialists to ensure clinical safety in the areas of operative block, birth unit , post-anesthetic care unit, in-hospital resuscitation and activities outside the operating room (such as CAT rooms or hemodynamic laboratory).

According to the SIM, minimum services with emergency services scales that are going to have more doctors are ensured than those that occur in normal services.
