Amazon and Google agree to share streaming on their platforms - News

The companies said in a statement that YouTube's official applications will be available in the coming months on Amazon's Fire TV, allowing Amazon platform users to access music videos and movies, programs and other content owned by Google.

The agreement will also allow Amazon Prime members to stream to Chromecast or use Android TV devices to access Amazon video content.

The agreement seems to end a dispute between the two technology giants that made it difficult or impossible for users of one video service to use the platform to access the other.

"We're excited to work with Amazon to launch official YouTube apps on Fire TV devices around the world," said Heather Rivera, director of product partnerships at YouTube.
