German Angelique Kerber and Canadian Bianca Andreescu will compete in the final of the Indian Wells Masters 1,000 tennis tournament after defeating Belinda Bencic and Ukrainian Elina Svitolina on Friday.

Kerber, eighth in the world rankings, secured his 29th appearance in a final by beating Bencic 6-4 6-2 in one hour and seven minutes.

The former world number one is looking for its 13th title in the circuit against wild card Bianca Andreescu, 60th in the world, who eliminated Svitolina by 6-3, 2-6 and 6-4 in two hours and 15 minutes.

The 18-year-old Romanian-born Canadian will try to reach her first title after being beaten in the Auckland final last January against fellow German Julia Georges.
