Angola's National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG) announced on Tuesday that it will launch a public tender in October this year to bid for 10 blocks for oil exploration in the Namibe and Benguela basins.
The information was transmitted today by ANPG's chairman, Paulino Jerónimo, during the opening session of the "Angola Oil & Gas 2019" conference, organized in Luanda by Africa Oil & Power (AOP).
According to Paulino Jerónimo, in the public tender, scheduled to be launched on October 2, ten oil blocks will be tendered, nine in the basin of the Angolan province of Namibe and one in the province of Benguela.
The conference that brings together in Luanda, until Thursday, several national and foreign operators of the oil and gas sector was opened by Angolan President João Lourenço.
According to the ANPG president, the bidding process, which falls under the General Production and Concessions Strategy 2019-2025, which foresees the award of 55 concessions in this period, "will boost exploration activity with a view to maximizing and replacing of reserves ".
