The leader of the CDS-PP, Asuncion Cristas, questioned the Prime Minister António Costa on "the direction" of the Government in the health sector, warning that "the services have been choked by the garrote Mário Centeno." Costa said that "there is no club Mário Centeno, because, as you know, the health area is not subject to captivity and has enormous freedom of budget management."
"The State Budget will predict 50 million euros for Gaia Hospital? And the 20 million to the Hospital of St. John? What about the money needed to pay overtime to health professionals? "Asked Cristas. In the answer, Costa assured: "In this State Budget we will restore all that was cut in the previous legislature, 1% of GDP. We will do everything for a universal and tendentially free Universal Health Service ".
It is important to point out that Mário Centeno was not present in the biweekly debate today in the Assembly of the Republic.
