Prime Minister António Costa will speak to the country later this Friday, May 3. The statement to the Portuguese will take place after the meeting with the President of the Republic.
The meeting with Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa will start at 3 o'clock, with statements by António Costa taking place only after the end of the meeting, the government source told Jornal Econômico.
The hard core of the Government was gathered this morning in São Bento to discuss the political crisis that was installed after the approval of the full thawing of the teachers' service time on Thursday. The measure was approved with the votes in favor of PSD, CDS, Bloque de Esquerda and PCP.
The measure will have an impact on public accounts in excess of 600 million euros from 2020, according to the Government accounts.
