During these 18 years of activity in the building inaugurated in 2001, the farense library has developed "an important action in the promotion of books and reading" in the county, emphasizes the autarchy.
It is worth noting the work carried out by the Educational Service, which covers all levels of education, with a higher incidence in preschool and 1st cycle, and the Cultural Extension Service, which promotes the community's approach to the library through a set actions and projects aimed at different target audiences.
The Municipal Library of Faro is already a hundred years old, and its official history began in a small room of the municipal councils in 1902, with 2000 volumes collected from private donations.
