The Naval Club of Portimão organizes, next Sunday, 21st, the XXI International Ascent of the River Arade, event that already has 435 participants confirmed, including many foreigners, mostly Spaniards.
According to the organization, there will be 384 kayaks in competition, in classes K1 and K2 and divided by the age groups of the participants, starting at 10:30 am.
Half an hour before, the canoeists who participate for simple pleasure, among whom are families.
The first moment of the event happens next to the headquarters of the Naval Club of Portimão, since they begin to put the boats in the water, until the departure.
Afterwards, whoever wants to go can follow the competition in places like the road bridges, in Mexilhoeira da Carregação, Clube Nautico de Silves, in Mata-Mouros and on the pier of Silves, on arrival.
Sponsors the event, with logistical support and offering of cups, the municipalities of Portimão, Lagoa and Silves.
