An exhibition of portraits of artists will be inaugurated today, at 18:00, to mark the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Casa do Artista – Apoiarte, in Lisbon.
The show, with a collection of portraits of artists donated by residents of this entity's residents, family and friends, will be on display until November 30.
Casa do Artista was founded in 1999 to support those who start an artistic career through training courses in the cultural, artistic and technical fields.
It also includes, in its statutes, the promotion of exhibitions, lectures and competitions, as well as "the reception of artists who terminate their activity, either by age or disability, in order to provide them with decent conditions".
Inserted in the enclosure of Casa do Artista is the Armando Cortez Theater, a multidisciplinary concert hall that has a regular theater program.
Apoiarte is an Association for the Support of Artists, of public utility and social solidarity, founded in 1986 in the field of performing arts, film, radio and television.
The exhibition "Faces of Stage" will be inaugurated at Raul Solnado Gallery, which can be visited from Thursday, with free admission.
