"We hope that until the beginning of the third term, the problem is solved, because in these conditions the block is not in a position to function," Jorge Pereira said.
The health delegate had already been there and, according to the school board member, warned of the need for "urgent" intervention, given the "danger" of asbestos.
Contacted by Lusa, the mayor of Vieira do Minho, António Cardoso, said that the Municipal Civil Protection Service will prepare a report on the situation that will make it to school.
Works scheduled several years ago
The House of Vieira do Minho and the Ministry of Education signed in 2016 an agreement for the requalification in that school, but the works have not yet started.
Of the three open competitions, two were empty, while the winner of the other did not meet the necessary conditions to take over the work.
The Chamber has approved, however, the launch of a fourth tender, but the procedure has not yet been implemented.
