Regarding changes that are not so perceptible, the saxophonist said that the process of creating the album "turned out to be a bit more consistent."
"We usually have very good beginnings of composition, but we have few finalizers, so I took on the role of song finisher and, with one or two exceptions, I ended the songs that were in the middle of almost everyone," recalled João Cabrita .
Already after the lyrics and compositions are finished, in the arrangement part, the elements of the band join and play, often in the rehearsal room, until they find "that the thing is sounding good."
"Even before recording the record in studio, we discreetly included the new tracks in concert alignment and we are testing. Then the recording process gets a lot faster, because we do the thing live and play it all at the same time, "he said.
"Back on Track" is presented live on the same day it is released on Friday at the Casa Independente in Lisbon, and the public can expect to "dance and dance a lot".
"Even in rehearsals, sometimes we get half-quaked at 10 in the morning to start work and at the end of three or four chords we're all jumping up, our enthusiasm and our love for this musical genre is very big and we have a party whenever we are playing. We join with some difficulty, so we are really happy to be together and celebrate the joy that is funk and soul and dance music in general, "said João Cabrita.
The Sodré Funk Connection Pier came out ten years ago, "at the invitation of Musicbox to make a DJ set, but with a band, funk and soul of the 1960s, and that's more or less the matrix that remains in the band."
