The «Artes de Natal» exhibition will be on the streets of downtown Faro until December 28, showing the Clube da Agulha, promoted by the Municipal Library of Faro.
Clube da Agulha has been meeting since May 2019, with biweekly meetings, from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm, at the Faro library, within the scope of the «Histórias Contadas Sorrisos Partilhados» story, which has developed a continuous and consistent work in the area the occupation of free time and well-being of the elderly, resorting to volunteering.
The works alluding to Christmas, carried out by the ladies of Clube da Agulha, will be exhibited in the various shop windows of downtown Faro that joined the challenge of the António Ramos Rosa Municipal Library, in partnership with the Association for the Development of Commerce of the Historic Zone of Faro.
“This project aims to reconcile the sharing of knowledge, readings and memories with the therapeutic and social side of the textile arts such as knitting, crochet and other manual activities, bringing residents closer to the services of the Faro Municipal Library, encouraging the taste for books and by reading and promoting regular meetings and gatherings ”, says the Faro cultural space.
Clube da Agulha also responds to the objective of the project «Stories Told Smiling Smiles», promoting the mental health of the elderly and reinforcing self-esteem with the surrounding community.
