The coast of the municipality of Odemira receives, on June 10, the Brisas do Atlântico, a multidisciplinary sports event between Almograve and Zambujeira do Mar, which mobilizes over a thousand participants annually.
The event, organized by the local council, includes the modalities of cycling, mountain biking, skating, athletics, orienteering, hiking and adapted sports.
Brisas do Atlântico has the competition, skating, run & bike and athletics (individual, stepping and adapted sports), and the leisure side, in the modalities of cycling, mountain biking, orienteering and hiking.
In the 2019 edition, the event intends to support projects in the scope of Inclusion for sports practice developed by associations and social institutions that develop their work in the municipality of Odemira.
The race starts at the Almograve beach, with the concentration scheduled for 8.00 hours.
The event is open to all athletes, both federated and non-federated. There will be monetary prizes for the various levels in the competition modalities.
On the competitive side, the athletics, skating and run & bike competitions have a course of 21.1 kilometers, linking the Almograve to Zambujeira do Mar.
In the leisure side, there are two pedestrian paths with 4 km and 8 km, mountain biking and cycling tours with 30 km and 35 km courses and orientation test, treasure hunting for groups and families, with 5 km.
Registration, with a limit of 2000 athletes, has a cost of 5 euros per participant and must be made until June 6, at the parish councils of the county, in the Municipal Pool, in the municipality of Odemira or through the contacts [email protected] or [email protected]
