Bruno Ribeiro, former coach of the main football team of Vitória de Setúbal in the 2010/11, 2011/12 and 2014/15 seasons, was presented today as junior coach of the sadino emblem.
The coach, who comes from Salgueiros, the elite division of the Porto Football Association, will replace Nélson Valente. The goal is to take the Victorians out of the last position of the national junior championship (South Zone), where they add one triumph and six defeats in seven days.
In the presentation, which took place in the press room of the Estádio do Bonfim, Bruno Ribeiro, 42, explained the reasons that led him to accept the invitation of the club.
"Who knows me knows that until today I did not say no to Vitória and I will never say it. It was in this house that I learned to be a player and to be a man. club of my heart and I know you need help, "he said.
The coach, who will have Marco Tábuas and David Luz as deputies, refutes the idea that the decision to take over the juniors is a setback in his career.
"Going back to Vitória is never a step back, because I'm coming back to my club. I came to be a solution, so here I am. I do not want to know what other people think," he said.
As a player, Bruno Ribeiro represented Vitória de Setúbal, Leeds United and Sheffield United (both from England), União de Leiria, Beira-Mar, Santa Clara and Desportivo de Chaves. As a coach, in addition to Vitória de Setúbal, he had passes through Farense, Moura, Pinhalnovense, Ludogorets (Bulgaria), Academician of Viseu, Port Vale (England), Salgueiros and, last season, Cova da Piedade in II Liga.
