Consoles may be about to become more expensive in countries that are part of the EU. According to IGN, this increase could be caused by the commercial "war" between the US and the European Union.
Recently, the US executive has published a list of products that it imports into the EU, to which it will be able to apply new customs bands, thus making the purchase of the articles less attractive to the Member States. In retaliation, the European organization did exactly the same, including in this document electronic equipment, such as video game consoles.
In practice, this means that if the US advances new taxes on products imported from the EU, the EU will also apply a series of fees on the products listed in this 11-page list. In the worst case scenarios, the import of consoles will be more expensive for retailers and, consequently, for the final consumer.
