Cape Verde will be represented in the Africa Youth Cup under 16 football, to be held from 19 to 27 April in Praia, by the Sotavento and Barlavento.
According to a statement from the Cape Verdean Football Federation (FCF), the Sotavento joint will be led by coach Dino Rocha and Barlavento by Jorge Conceição.
FCF vice-president Inácio Carvalho, who was on Monday at the tournament, reiterated his commitment to the formation and internationalization of youth football.
He argued on the occasion that betting on training is a safe, smart and return-based investment.
Countries like Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire, Mali, France, Portugal, Togo, Benin, the United States and China (to confirm) will be present at this youth tournament, with the participation of Sport Club Benfica.
The games, according to the agreement, will be played in the Municipal Stadium of São Domingos, in the fields of Tira-Chapéu, Pensamento, Achada Grande Frente and São Filipe, so that this event will serve for the development of football and the cultural exchange between communities and athletes.
