The City Council and the Cultural and Recreational Association Carnival of Albergaria-a-Velha celebrated a cooperation protocol for the performance of the evening corso (February 22 and 24) and the children's corso (February 23) of Carnival 2020
Within the scope of the signed document, the municipality will grant a maximum grant of 16,750 euros, the payment of which will be subject to the presentation and monitoring of the due budgets, as well as renting a tent at Alameda 5 de Outubro, up to 5,000 euros. There will also be an exemption from any payment of fees applicable to the type of event in question.
Comic Strip is the central theme of Carnival 2020, which runs from February 21st to 24th. In the two night parades and in the children's corso, there will be about 1,200 participants from 15 different groups in the municipality, involving collectives, IPSS and schools in a collaborative work to recover and enhance the carnival tradition in Albergaria-a-Velha.
QUIM BARREIROS ON THE ARRIVAL OF THE KINGS
The revelry kicks off on Friday night with the arrival of the kings of Carnival and presentation of themes at 9 pm, followed by a concert with Quim Barreiros at the Carnival Tent. On Saturday, at the same time, the first night corso departs, starting at Avenida Bernardino Máximo de Albuquerque (Casa da Criança) passing in front of the Municipal Market – Praça and ending at Alameda 5 de Outubro, next to Cineteatro Alba.
On Sunday, at 3 pm, it is the children's turn to show their creativity and joy in the children's corso. At night, from 10 pm, there is a costume contest with DJ Vidal Music Entertainer and a show with Creuzebeks – Mamonas Assassinas Tribute.
On the last night of Carnival, the second night parade is released and the winners of the 2020 edition are announced.
Every night there will be an After Party at Tenda Carnaval with DJ José Gabriel (21), Zion (22), Chuvex (23) and M. Louiz (24).
The concert with Quim Barreiros is priced at 5 euros, with free admission to the Carnival Tent on other nights. As for the parades, tickets for the two evening corsets cost 2.50 euros, with free admission for children under 10 years old. The children's parade is free to enter.
