Chelsea resorted to FIFA's ban on hiring players

Chelsea has appealed against the ban on hiring players in the next two transfer markets imposed by FIFA, which accuses the London club of violating the regulations on international transfers of 29 smaller players.

FIFA confirmed today that it has received the appeal of Chelsea, which was penalized on 22 February to refrain from recruiting new players until the end of January 2020, as well as to pay a fine of 600,000 Swiss francs (about 530,000 euros) and to regularize the situation of minors in the process within 90 days.

FC Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid have also been sanctioned for similar infractions in recent years, all of which have filed appeals that delayed the sanctions.

The first two clubs eventually saw the ban on new recruitments confirmed, while Real Madrid saw their sanction reduced to the transfer window in the winter market.
