Cineteatro Louletano, cultural equipment of the Municipality of Loulé, is announcing its new artistic program for the period between September and December this year. The new grid of proposals reflects an ambitious, demanding and very strong commitment to musical plurality, to the integration of the artistic medium in the region and the region, as well as a very significant focus on its five main strategic programming axes: art for children; crossing between local creators and renowned figures on the national scene through musical orders; inclusive art through contemporary dance, with active involvement from local IPSS’s; experimental and multidisciplinary dialogues between sound / music and image, combined with exploratory approaches around sound art (festival Som Riscado); and a medium-long-term artistic auscultation (in a vision that calls for theater and photography) of the Louletan territory in terms of its identities, dynamics and sociological becoming.
It is recalled that after several months of interruption due to the pandemic, Cineteatro presented in May, June and July an online program of stimulus and financial support to the local artistic milieu, which had a notable impact and registered close to 170 thousand visualizations in the areas of music and theater / performance (involving 15 individual artists and 5 associative structures), in addition to more than 7000 visualizations in the cinema field (in partnership with the Algarve association Pluto de Verão around the universe of short films ).
The Cineteatro season begins with the cycle “Implikação” and focuses on a pertinent and urgent reflection around the tourist phenomenon and the consequences of the covid-19 in this area and what is changing in the cities. On September 8, at 6:00 pm, at Gama Lobo Palace, director Tiago Correia, architect Teresa Valente and photographer Filipe da Palma debate this theme, followed by September 12, at 9:30 pm, at Cineteatro, the first show of the season with the disturbing play “Turismo”, in a co-production with the Municipal Theater of Porto.
