Cineteatro takes “take-away” of culture in March

Free online program of Cineteatro Louletano with music and image on Facebook

In view of the Government's decision to prolong the confinement and the impossibility of opening it to the public, Cineteatro Louletano will move forward – as it had already done in 2020 – with online programming in March, with universal and free access.

The “teleculture” starts with “Coração Negro”, by Rosa Coutinho Cabral, thus debuting the rubric “Cinema à quintas”, with the support of the Loulé Film Office and curated by Rui Tendinha. The cycle proposes films mostly Portuguese every Thursday in March, sessions that can be seen without paying a ticket, through the Facebook page of Cineteatro Louletano, between 8:00 pm and midnight.

The online programming will also give viewers music, sounds and images that will travel on the network again through Facebook. This is the case of the Allcante, on Saturday, the 6th, at 17:00. A group that, as its name implies, is mainly dedicated to singing and Alentejo fashions, elevating the traditions of an art that is not only tradition but also classified as intangible heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. The "All" is from Alentejo, but also from Algarve, where some of the band's elements are original.

Saturday still, day 6, project made in Algarve: Elephant Woman. The band was created by Crestin Razvan, on bass and vocals, who later joined Mariana Ribeiro, main vocalist. David Pinto on guitars and Davide Nascimento on drums, together with Miguel Guerreiro on keys, make up the “rest of the Elephant”. The Elephant Woman was born in 2020, crosses several musical genres and promotes the sentiment quoted by lyric poetry.

Also in music but on March 8, at 7 pm, Grafonola Voadora will return to the CTL stage, with Napoleão Mira, to mark International Women's Day, and on March 20 it will be the turn of another repeater, this time in a quintet version. , the Jazz Orchestra of the Algarve, at 7 pm. Concerts to see and hear online.

World Theater Day

Finally, but not least, a place for theater, not least because in March its World Day is celebrated.

On the 13th, Pedro Loulé's play “Antes”, by Pedro Penim, at Teatro Praga. A piece not to be missed, that before the pandemic, had already traveled through Paris, Barcelona and Istanbul. “Antes” is a little jewel of the new Portuguese dramaturgy, which approaches with irony and humor the feeling of longing, the attachment to the past. The director confronts a tyrannosaurus rex and a postmodern psychoanalyst in a hilarious and bitter dialogue that offers “food for thought” about the future of our civilizations.

The month also ends with – and about – theater. On 27, at 17:00, Ricardo Neves-Neves, director, playwright and actor, brings us a televised message to mark World Theater Day. And you won't be talking to yourself. At 7:00 pm, they join Ao Luar Teatro, Figo Lampo, Folha de Medronho and Mákina de Cena, who also bring us messages about this very special day, thus closing the program this month that anticipates – at home – Spring .

The Cineteatro is a cultural structure in the field of performing arts of the Municipality of Loulé, integrated in the Rede Azul – Theater Network of the Algarve and the Rede 5 Sentidos.
