THE Coimbra Municipal Council (CM Coimbra) decided to make available the Sérgio Conceição Stadium, in Taveiro, and to support with 35 thousand euros the European Under-20 Rugby Union in the city, between March 30 and April 7.
The decision makes the municipality of Coimbra a partner of the Regional Rugby Committee of the Center and the Portuguese Federation of Rugby in the organization of the main European event of the modality in the respective step, underlines the House in the proposal, which was unanimously approved yesterday by the municipal executive.
In addition to the provision of the Taveiro Municipal Stadium (Sérgio Conceição), the Chamber will allocate "a financial contribution of 35 thousand euros", among other support, such as "exemption from payment of fees", in the amount of three thousand euros, and the "guarantee of the presence of an ambulance and its crew" of the Company of Firefighters Sapadores in the enclosure.
Coimbra already hosted the European Under-20 Rugby Championship in 2018, where Portugal won the championship twice, winning in the final in Spain (25-3) at the Sérgio Conceição Stadium.
