João Lourenço, pilot of Vila do Bispo, was the fastest in the prologue of Baja de Loulé, played this morning on the outskirts of the city that gives name to the second round of the National All-Terrain Championship.
Having completed the 8.66 kms of the timed section, the Algarve rider at the controls of his Beta RR-2T, left 2nd place, Daniel Jordão (Yamaha WR 450) at 24.5s, which in turn was superior to Salvador Vargas (KTM ) for only 1.0s, the same distance as David Megre (Husqvarna FE 250) was left behind by his predecessor, while Domingos Santos (AJP P510) was in the top-five closing at 2.1s Megre.
Gonçalo Amaral (Honda CRF RX 250) was the sixth fastest, at 2.6s of Domingos Santos, in front of Carlos Costa (KTM 500) who spent 10.8s more than his predecessor, while Bernardo Vilar (KTM 450 ) was the 8th with more 1.4s than the pilot of the Cortelha.
In the 9th place Rui Cebola (Husqvarna FE 250) was more 1.6s than Vilar, with the top-ten finishing with Tiago Santos (Yamaha WR F 250) who spent 4.9 more than his predecessor.
Note for the Algarve's Pedro Neto (KTM EXC-F 450) who finished the prologue in 16th place with 1m07 more than the winner, while Renato Mendes (SUZUKI RMZ 250) was the 23rd fastest among the 28 riders who finished the "heating" for the marathon scheduled to start at 12.50, to cover the first Selective Sector with 82.26 km.
At Quads, with only 3 competitors competing, Roberto Borrego (YAMAHA YFZ 450) was the fastest, leaving Luís Engeitado (YAMAHA YFZ 450) at 7.5s, while Filipe Martins was on the lowest step of the podium at 10.0s of its predecessor.
