Lendias d'Encantar and Musibéria launched the initiative «A Minha Casa É Uma Pauta», a project to promote musical creation in times of isolation, allowing musicians from the Alentejo to fit recipes.
This is yet another initiative to mitigate the effects of stopping artistic activity in Portugal, following Covid-19, with the support of the Regional Directorate for Culture of Alentejo.
With the cancellation of shows, one of the first measures of the state of emergency, the music sector "will most likely be one of the last economic activities to resume normalcy, leaving thousands of Portuguese people connected to the area without income".
This initiative by the theater company Lendias d'Encantar (Beja) and Musibérica (Serpa) arises for “to minimize the serious economic effects that this whole situation imposes on creators”, dividing itself into three phases.
In the first phase, authors / musicians are challenged to compose a model and with one or two original songs, “inspired by the current situation we live in and what it has caused inside each one of us”.
In a second phase, the models will be analyzed and taught by the two driving forces of the project, which will choose ten artists / songs for recording in the sound studio Musibéria and later publication in CD format.
In the last phase of the project, a concert will be held with the selected artists, for public presentation of the chosen songs.
The organization guarantees 600 euros for selected music, expenses for recording, editing and publishing the works, as well as the space and technical means for the presentation concert.
To participate, simply send the model in digital format to [email protected] until the 15th of June.
