Within the scope of the contingency situation declared at national level, due to the Covid 19 pandemic, mayors were given the power to set opening and closing times for establishments in each municipality. Thus, by order dated September 17 and applicable until the 30th of this month, Luís Encarnação defined that commercial establishments open at 10 am and may close, at the maximum, until 11 pm.
However, the municipality emphasizes that “there are several exceptions to this rule, namely hairdressing salons, barbers, beauty institutes, restaurants and the like, coffee shops, tea houses and the like, driving schools and vehicle inspection centers, as well as as gyms and gyms'.
In view of the countless doubts that arose, due to the interpretation of the norms emanating from the Resolution of the Council of Ministers nº 70-A / 2020, Luís Encarnação received, on the 17th of September, a group of traders, having clarified the understanding and position of the chamber of Lagoa.
The mayor also clarified that "the hourly limits now fixed were defined in conjunction with the local health authority and the National Republican Guard of Lagoa, as a security force".
