Three days full of animation, history, arts and culture, as well as the pedestrian crossing of the Guadiana River, are the promises of the 3rd Contraband Festival, which starts tomorrow, Friday, 29, in Alcoutim and Sanlúcar de Guadiana (Spain) .
The Minister of Planning, Nelson de Souza, and the Secretary of State for Culture, Ângela Ferreira, will attend the official opening of the festival and the floating pedestrian bridge at 2:30 p.m.
The Portuguese governors will be accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Culture and Historical Heritage, Alejandro Romero Romero, delegate of the Andalusian Government in Huelva, Bella Verano Domínguez, and vice president of Coordination and Transversal Policies of Helva Provincial Council, María Eugenia Limón Bayo.
"If, on the one hand, the art, culture, gastronomy and natural heritage shared by both villages are celebrated, on the other hand the illicit activity of commerce is seen as the motto for the (re) creation of times gone by, where many are the shared stories of people crossing the river in order to survive, "the organization says.
The festival's program was based on the development of the local identity through the universal language of the arts, making possible the definition of a new territory, where, for three days, united by a floating pedestrian bridge, two countries "share an identity anchored in the experience of two peoples who for centuries have shared the same margins, the same memories, the same struggles, the same ambitions and the same dreams. "
