More than six hundred employers in the region have already applied for support for the conversion of 1,800 employment contracts under the Converte + Measure, the Institute for Employment and Vocational Training (IEFP) has announced.
“The applications submitted corresponded to more than 1,800 jobs which, through the financial support provided by the IEFP, estimated at € 4.8 million, saw their fixed-term employment contract become a permanent contract”, says the entity. in a statement.
This number of applications and contract conversions “seem to indicate that employers in the region are increasingly betting on a paradigm shift in hiring practices and improving employment conditions and quality in the region,” says IEFP.
The Converte + Measure was introduced by Ordinance No. 323/2019, following the tripartite agreement to combat precariousness and reduce labor segmentation and to promote greater dynamism in collective bargaining, with a view to strengthening and transiently extending support for the conversion of fixed-term contracts. in contracts without term.
The financial support provided for in the measure is 4 times the monthly base remuneration provided for in the permanent employment contract, up to seven times the IAS (Index of Social Support), which in 2019 was 435.76 euros and may be increased. in certain situations.
The conditions for granting financial support are the maintenance of the supported employment contract and the level of employment for a period of 24 months from the effective date of the terminated employment contract.
The application is made by electronic submission through the iefponline portal. The application period ends at 6:00 pm on January 6, 2020.
