The "Creative Day in Milreu – Time Travel" initiative will take place at the Roman Ruins of Milreu, in Estoi, in the municipality of Faro, on Saturday, 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The event is part of the DiVaM – Dinamization and Valorization of Monuments program, organized by the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve and directed to families and the general public.
The program includes lectures on the origins of the "Land Art" concept, introduction to the history of mosaics and examples in Art History. The visit follows the archaeological ruins, drawing, photography and collection of natural materials.
After a picnic, the creation of individual or group mosaics begins with the support of the artists present, who will be recorded in photography. It will be a journey back in time, retreating to Roman art, linking this art to nature and enlivening with the participants an artistic day in Milreu.
The activity will be stimulated by Nicole Lissy, Sadie Walker, Jane Gittens and Gonçalo Rodrigues, of the Amarelarte Association, with the collaboration of the Friends of the São Brás de Alportel Museum.
Entries in the activity can be sent today, Friday, 3, to [email protected]
