The news of the death of Freitas do Amaral, founder of the CDS, was received today during a campaign luncheon for the legislatures in Barcelos, Braga, and the centrist leader asked the militants to keep a minute of silence.

At lunch, Asunción Cristas recalled the past of Diogo Freitas do Amaral, as a founder, and the "courage" needed to defend the party's ideas after April 25, 1974. "I can only be grateful for his work and courage." , said the CDS leader.

Diogo Freitas do Amaral, 78, died this Thursday, October 3. The politician was hospitalized since September 16 in a hospital in Cascais.
