The man arrested yesterday, in Faro, by PSP for drug trafficking – in possession of more than 500 grams of heroin intended for sale – will be held in custody, the prosecutor said.
According to the MP, there are suspicions that the 42-year-old detainee has been engaged, for several years, in buying and selling heroin and cocaine in the city of Faro.
According to PSP, an on-the-ground device was set up to enable the target to be intercepted in the act when selling a narcotic product, followed by a search for his residence.
Following the detention in question and following the completion of the abovementioned home search, various material was seized, in particular around 5460 doses of heroin; a shotgun air pressure caliber 4,5 mm; two 9mm caliber ammunition; about 100 euros in cash; objects related to illicit trafficking activity as well as various electronic devices, such as tablets and mobile phones.
After judicial interrogation, the accused, without any other known professional activity, was in custody.
The inquiry is directed by the MP of the 2nd (specialized) Faro section of the DIAP Faro.
