The Football Association of Coimbra (AFC) will resume football competitions (AFC Honor Division, AFC 1st Division and U-21 District Trophy) and futsal (Men's Honor Division and Women's Honor Division) over the weekend of May 8 and 9.
The events will undergo several changes in their format and all teams start the competition with zero points. “AFC will resume football and futsal competitions, male and female, on the 8th and 9th of May. The format will be completely different, with smaller groups ”, AFC president Horácio Antunes told DIÁRIO AS BEIRAS.
Tomorrow, at 6 pm, the draws of the Honor Division groups will take place, which will be played by 14 teams divided into two groups with five formations and a group with four formations, as well as the drawing of the 1st AFC Division, which has 18 sets, divided into two groups of four teams and two with five formations. Also tomorrow will be known the calendar of the U-21 District Trophy, which has 16 teams (four groups with four teams). Regarding futsal, only from Wednesday, the AFC will define the groups of the Men's Honor Division, with the Honor Division maintaining the current format of a single group.
"It is the possible recovery in a completely atypical year and the most difficult that the sport has had in Portugal until today", stressed Horácio Antunes, who also revealed that "the idea is to finish the competition by June 27th". It should be noted that this season the Coimbra Football Association Cup will not be played.
