O Benfica today regretted the sudden death of the fitness coach Rui Viana, at 26, recalling the physiologist's connection to the club in the 2016/17 season, then in the juniors' technical team.

“Rui Viana was part of the squad led by João Tralhão (UEFA Youth League finalist in 2017) and contributed to the sports training of several players now recognized nationally and internationally, such as João Félix, Rúben Dias, Jota, Florentino, Diogo Gonçalves, Gedson Fernandes, among others ”, underlines the Lisbon club.

Also Desportivo de Chaves, Rui Viana's club last season, before working during the current one at Vitória de Guimarães, reminded the physiologist's youth, expressing regret and condolences to his family and friends.

Varzim, Académica and Sporting de Braga, other clubs in the preparer's route, joined in grief, recalling the contribution of Rui Viana.

“In memory, a very dedicated professional is left who leaves us too soon”, underlined the Academic.

Rui Viana died suddenly today, said Vitória de Guimarães, the club where the coach played for seniors, after reaching the senior level at Académica and Desportivo de Chaves in the last two seasons.
