Académica returns to competition on Saturday, with a reception for Oliveirense. It is another complicated game for Ivo Rego's pupils on their return to the top echelon of Portuguese basketball. Despite the difficulties, the students believe in a good final stretch that guarantees maintenance.
“We are not in the best place in the world [a Académica é 8.ª classificada], but the goal is to stay in this division. We have always kept ourselves in the playoff position, which gives us the maintenance, but of course we want to climb at least one place and I think we managed to do it ”, revealed to DIÁRIO AS BEIRAS, Paulo Caldeira, 21-year-old base.
Ahead are “many close games – Oliveirense, Ovarense, Imortal and V. Guimarães – and they will all be very important for our classification at the end of the season”, says the Portuguese, who reinforced the Academic this year, coming from Sampaense.
